Biography
Kevin Ringo is a singer/songwriter who writes music that makes a difference. With a passionate belief that music should change the listener, his purpose in making music is evident with each tune. Using his God given ability to create songs from previous experiences, Kevin’s music is easy to identify with as each song tells a story common to most of us. His latest album titled Restored, is a compilation of some of his most heartfelt work. Kevin writes about such things as raising children and the importance of family values. Inspired by his own childhood he tells of the pain and abandonment a young child experiences when divorce occurs, and the importance of a father being present in the home. In addition, The Flag Song tells of his love and respect for our country and the need to teach our children to honor our troops and our flag.
The album received its name based upon a life changing experience in Kevin’s life. Used as a metaphor, the name Restored is used to describe a life that was once broken. As a master craftsman would refurbish an old vehicle, God refurbishes us. Many times, our story is too painful to uncover, and we are tempted to gloss it over with a cheap cover-up paint job. The paint soon cracks and peels leaving us as we were before. This is what God has done in Kevin’s life, and this change has made him “restored”.
All of the stories take the form of flowing country melodies played by some of Nashville’s best players. Kevin is the father of six beautiful children and currently lives in a small town north of Atlanta, Georgia. More than anything he enjoys spending time with his family, camping, fishing, playing his guitar, restoring old vehicles, and making music. Kevin is a down to earth man that loves God and desires to remind people of core values that over time have begun to fade. His desire is that his music will touch the heart of every listener in some small way.
